Cookie Policy

Last updated: September 24, 2026

This policy explains how Relay uses cookies and similar technologies on relay.contact, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers the personal information we handle more broadly.

Services that are always on

Some things have to work for the site to function or to keep your visit secure. These run regardless of your cookie choice:

  • Form security. Our contact and enquiry forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission comes from a real person rather than a bot. It runs only on pages with a form and only when you submit one.
  • Site statistics. This site uses cookieless, privacy-focused statistics that count visits without storing anything on your device and without identifying you. Because no information is stored or read on your device, this does not require a choice.
  • Google Analytics 4. We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-1DFCCCJ5NG) to understand how visitors use the site: which pages are read and how people arrive. It sets cookies, and it loads only once analytics permission has been granted under the policy that applies to you. If you refuse analytics, or change your choice at any time through the cookie settings panel, this tag does not run. You can also limit it through your browser's cookie controls or Google's own Analytics opt-out add-on.
  • Coarse region lookup. To work out which rules apply to you, our consent system looks up your approximate region (country or US state) from your IP address at page load. This is a transient lookup used only for that decision; it is not used to build a profile of you.

Optional services you control

Everything below is optional. None of it runs until permission applies, either because your region requires us to ask and you have accepted, or because your region permits optional services by default. In every case you can refuse or change your mind at any time.

Optional services and privacy choices

Whether optional services need permission before they run depends on your location and the settings for this site. Services you previously declined stay off. If we cannot determine which services are allowed, they stay off.

You can decline optional services or withdraw permission at any time in Cookie settings. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, advertising stays off unless you explicitly allow it in Cookie preferences. This signal does not automatically turn off functional services or analytics.

How your choice works

Where the law requires it (the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and certain US states), the services listed below under Optional services you control wait until you accept. You will see a banner offering to accept, to refuse, or to choose per category. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and choosing "Reject all" is a single click.

One exception: Google Analytics 4 runs on page load in every region and does not wait for your choice, because an external audit requires the tag to be present in the page source. It is described under "Services that are always on" above, along with how to limit it.

Elsewhere, optional services run by default and you will not see a banner. You can still opt out from the Cookie settings link in the footer.

Some regions allow strictly functional services while analytics and advertising still wait for your permission. Where that applies, you may see a choice covering only the categories that need one.

Changing or withdrawing your choice

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using . Withdrawing stops the optional services from loading on your next page view. Your saved choice is remembered on this device so you are not asked again on every visit.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we honour it automatically as an opt-out. GPC reflects a refusal: it is never overridden by an "accept all" choice.

What refusing means

Refusing costs you nothing and the site works exactly the same. It does mean we see less about how people use the site, so our reporting may undercount visits from people who have declined. We would rather undercount than track you without permission.
